Why Me?

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts." Isaiah 55:8-9

Why me?

How many times have you asked this question of our Lord? When we experience something devastating or unexpected, it can be easy to question and wonder why God allows these things to happen. Sometimes, there are no earthly answers to this heavenly question (Isaiah 55:8-9).

The next time you have a rough day-when client calls don’t go as hoped, board meetings leave you frustrated, or the responsibilities of the day weigh you down and you start to question if you are “cut out” for this-I’d like you to remember that he has called YOU by name. He has ordained YOU for such a time as this, and He needs YOU to bloom where you are planted to build His kingdom here on earth. You are one of a kind, unrepeatable and irreplaceable. You bring wonder and gifts to your ministry in a way that only you can. Every, “yes,” you give our Lord today is a response to His call to lead His people.

Like you, I am a finite being who cannot begin to fathom all of the mysteries of the universe. However, I do believe I have come to know some pretty defining characteristics of the ‘Who’- and because of who He is, I am learning to trust even when I cannot fathom the “why.”

If you are struggling today, prayerfully consider reaching out to one of us at Five Stone. Let us know how we can pray for you, or how we may be able to help bring clarity and resolve during a difficult time. I firmly believe that God equips, empowers, and encourages by placing people in our path to walk the journey with us-people who, through their very presence, remind us of what the Lord has done and can do; people who help us to go further than we think is possible. You don’t have to lead alone.

Blessings,

Audra
