Change is Inevitable.

Updated: Apr 11, 2023

Be strong. Take courage. Don’t be intimidated. Don’t give them a second thought because GOD, your God, is striding ahead of you. He’s right there with you. He won’t let you down; he won’t leave you.” – Deut. 31:6 MSG

Change is difficult. Most people do stand up and volunteer for seasons of change. Similarly, most people do not sign up for a confrontational conversation. For leaders, both are inevitable.

Employees will resign. Locations will move. Board members will be added and removed.

If you know that change is more of a struggle for you than others, take time to lean into that uncomfortable feeling. More importantly, lean into the guidance of the Lord. Trust the Lord and ask Him for guidance in the change.

It may be necessary to be extra kind to yourself and give extra grace to the team during such a time. Lead by example and have times of prayer as a team. Step outside and take a quick walk. Listen to worship music. Communicate to the team how you are leaning into the Lord more intentionally.

Change is inevitable. So is the fact that the Lord will be right by your side. Trust Him.
